the emotional pains of growin up followed me well into my recovery. i could always feel somethin within not quite right but could never put a finger on what or why. as i grew up into my 20s and 30s, i found alcohol did what i needed it to do to squash the uneasy emotions within. i was always afraid to speak of em with anybody as my ego or pride would NOT allow it. honesty about what i had found in my 4th step inventory, and the share of it to my sponsor through the 5th step, helped me to see the emotional illness i had suffered from. today, i may still suffer from emotional illness, however, those early discussions with my sponsor at the time, helped to teach me a way through recovery with which to manage em. learnin tolerance of others, and most importantly of self, today i get to persevere usin the simple concepts of, first things first, live and let live, and easy does it. 1 day @ a time…
