one of the things that helped me stick around the rooms was the jovial belly laughs i heard roar before, durin, and after the meetins. but it wasnt only the light heartedness i seen. as i hung out i began to hear peoples storys and what they did to maintain their personal program of recovery. as i developed relationships with some of the people in the fellowship, they showed me how they lived what i heard them speak of in the meetins. some surely attracted me, others, not so much. the ones who did not were the ones who spoke really good shit in a meetin, but outside, on the street, did the exact opposite. i had to talk with my sponsor about this. he suggested i watch and learn. i would be directed to the ones i felt in my heart, whether they lived what they spoke or not outside the rooms. the choice was mine to make. today, here i am, several years later in my own program of recovery followin each spiritual principle as i heard and seen the ones do early in my recovery. the lifestyle they lived and many who still do just as i try to, are the ones whove become trusted friends in recovery. today i get to live my life, hopefully, as a grateful attraction to others of what a solid program of recovery can bring. 1 day @ a time…
