For National Recovery Month, we’re recognizing providers of addiction treatment that make a difference in the lives of those struggling with addiction. This week, we’re talking about Serenity Recovery Centers—a nonprofit alcohol and drug addiction and co-occurring disorders treatment center in Memphis, Tennessee.

In 1971, a group of people in recovery from alcohol addiction joined together to form a safe haven for recovering alcoholics, calling it the “Serenity House.” Since that initial beginning, Serenity has evolved into a full campus with four buildings. Though they’ve increased in size and reach over the years, Serenity Recovery Centers’ commitment and mission is the same today as it was then. Serenity focuses on providing counseling, education and advocacy for individuals struggling with addiction and their families.

Visit the Serenity Recovery Centers website to learn more about the life-changing work they do.
