About Bangor Comprehensive Treatment Center
Bangor Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) provides medically supervised medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with opioid addictions. MAT combines individual and group counseling with the use of prescription medication to help individuals end their opioid use. At our treatment center, patients may receive a prescription for methadone or Suboxone. Both medications can alleviate the uncomfortable symptoms of withdrawal, which can help prevent individuals from using opioids again. Unlike some methadone clinics, Bangor CTC offers individual and group counseling services. Counseling gives patients the chance to process their experiences and identify things that may have contributed to their drug use. The medication and counseling components of MAT can help people learn to control their addictive behaviors and adopt the skills necessary to achieve long-term recovery.
