About Huntington Comprehensive Treatment Center
Located in Huntington, West Virginia, Huntington Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is an outpatient opioid use disorder treatment program for adults age 18 and older. Our treatment center utilizes medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which combines counseling with the use of prescription medication to treat individuals who have addictions to opioids. Years of research has demonstrated MAT’s effectiveness, and it is highly recommended by agencies like the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the National Institute on Drug Abuse. The medications used in MAT help eliminate the withdrawal symptoms that often occur when a person stops using opioids, giving patients the clarity of mind they need to fully participate in the treatment process. Methadone clinics vary in the types of medications they offer, but we can provide prescriptions for methadone, buprenorphine, Suboxone, and naltrexone, depending on a person’s needs. Additionally, patients can participate in individual and group therapy during their time in our care. During individual therapy, patients meet one-on-one with a qualified counselor, while group therapy allows them to have time to meet with other patients who may be facing similar challenges. These counseling sessions offer the support people need as they work toward recovery.
