About Shelby Comprehensive Treatment Center
Shelby Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), located in Shelby, North Carolina, is a leading provider of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with addictions to heroin, prescription painkillers, fentanyl, and other opioids. MAT is an evidence-based approach to opioid addiction treatment that combines therapy with prescription medications to address the complex emotional and physical aspects of opioid addiction. Patients at our Cleveland County CTC can receive methadone, buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone), buprenorphine (Subutex), Vivitrol, or Sublocade as a part of their individualized care plan. These medications work by helping people who have an opioid addiction end their opioid use without experiencing painful withdrawal symptoms or continued cravings. However, medication alone is not sufficient to address the psychological elements of opioid addiction and the need for lifelong recovery. Group and individual therapy, led by compassionate, trained substance abuse counselors, is included in our programming and is essential as you pursue lasting recovery.
