About South Portland Comprehensive Treatment Center
South Portland Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is a respected outpatient opioid use disorder program in South Portland, Maine. We provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults who are struggling with addictions to opioids. After decades of research, MAT has proved to be an effective intervention, as it combines therapy with the use of prescription medication. At our CTC, we can prescribe methadone and Suboxone, depending on a patient’s needs and the state of their health. Complementing the use of medication, patients have access to individual and group therapy. Individual therapy involves patients meeting in a confidential setting with a counselor, while group therapy offers them time to speak with other people who may have had similar experiences. Becoming involved in a recovery community can be essential to sustaining sobriety, and these counseling sessions allow patients to develop relationships with others who can support and encourage them during and after their time in treatment.
