Welcome to the Journey from Victim to Survivor: You’re a STAR!

We’re thrilled to announce that the TAR Network is transforming into the STAR Network™ by the end of October! This evolution represents far more than a simple name change—it marks a profound shift in our mission and vision. STAR stands for “Survivor of Toxic Abusive Relationships,” and it’s a powerful reminder of your strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. You’re not just surviving; you’re shining brightly as the STAR you were always meant to be.

You Are Not Alone, and You Are Not a Victim!

Your journey to the STAR Network is already a testament to your courage. You’ve taken a step to reclaim your life, moving from victimhood to survivorhood, and that’s an extraordinary achievement worth celebrating. By joining TAR Anon™ and committing to your CPTSD recovery, you’ve embraced the path of healing and transformation.

The STAR Network’s logo beautifully captures this journey, featuring a broken heart being mended by golden stitches—representing the process of rediscovering your authentic self. It’s a journey of reparenting, emotional regulation, and connecting with a compassionate community. As you navigate this path, you’ll uncover your STAR power, the strength that has always been within you.

“Stay Gold, STAR, Stay Gold!” – This is more than just a mantra; it’s a reminder to embrace your brilliance and let your inner light shine and reach authenticity!

Dr. Jamie Huysman, Executive Director and Founder: Evolution of STAR Network

“Mental health is finally evolving to a more sensible, trauma-informed place where people can become their own therapists, retrain their brains, and re-parent themselves after challenging childhoods. This shift is creating profound changes, particularly in how we address Toxic Abusive Relationships (TAR). TAR is everywhere, ingrained in our culture and society, affecting individuals from all walks of life. This is why the STAR Network exists—transforming lives, raising awareness, and helping those impacted by toxic relationships to find their way back to themselves. Founded on the principles of truth, authenticity, and self-love, the STAR Network is a 501(c)(3) foundation that is committed to eradicating shame and stigma while empowering survivors to reclaim their lives. In the coming years, we anticipate a greater focus on addressing the deep-rooted impact of toxic relationships and environments. We’re learning more about how these experiences shape mental and emotional well-being. The STAR Network stands as a beacon of hope, dedicated to bringing advocacy, awareness, and transformation to those affected by attachment disorders. As Dr. Gabor Maté encourages us, the question is shifting from “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?” We embrace this mindset as we move forward with compassion and empathy.”

From Scars to STARs: A Journey of Transformation

The STAR Network, formerly the TAR Network, is here to help you realize that You Are Not a Victim! You’re a STAR! Your presence here signifies your journey from victim to survivor. You are a STAR—a Survivor of Toxic Abusive Relationships. This transformation is at the heart of what the STAR Network represents. Our mission is to provide support to individuals across generations affected by toxic parenting, relationships, workplaces, or societal structures. We offer accessible programs and resources to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma, helping survivors heal and thrive. By focusing on attachment disorders, promoting truth, and encouraging authenticity, the STAR Network helps survivors embrace their true selves. We are based in South Florida, but we are spread across the globe, supporting this transformative movement.

True healing begins from within and at the STAR Network. We’re here to help you turn the scars from toxic relationships into STARs of hope and resilience. As co-founder Milena (Mila) Stankovic shares:

“Healing from generational trauma is a challenging but beautiful journey. Thanks to Dr. Jamie Huysman and the work we’re doing with STAR Network, I’ve realized that we all have the power to become our therapists, reparent ourselves, and break free from the chains of our past. My greatest wish is for everyone to discover their inner STAR power and heal from the trauma and scars that have held them back for so long.”

TAR Anon: A Global Fellowship for Survivors

At the heart of the STAR Network is TAR Anon, a sanctuary for survivors to connect, share, and heal in a neuro-regulated space. This international fellowship provides a safe and nurturing environment where survivors can support each other on their journey out of the darkness and into the light.

Our free virtual TAR Anon meetings remain every Monday and Wednesday at 6 PM EDT. Mondays are open to anyone affected by TAR, while Wednesdays focus on those who cannot easily “go no contact” with toxic individuals, such as caregivers, parents, or siblings. These meetings offer survivors the opportunity to reclaim their lives, find community support, and embrace their healing journey.

STAR Network has partnered with over 140 international organizations to launch Parental Alienation (PA) meetings, recognizing that this is the worst form of child abuse. Dr. Jamie emphasizes the importance of helping parents regulate themselves, find peace, and maintain inner strength while battling PA, a trauma that scars both parents and children. Through TAR Anon, we offer multiple free weekly meetings:

TAR 101 Meetings: Held every Monday at 6 PM EDT, offering:

  • A supportive global community
  • Trauma-informed guidance for emotional regulation

TAR Anon Family Caregiving Meetings: Every Wednesday at 6 PM EDT, providing:

  • A safe space to share experiences
  • A global network of empathetic individuals

TAR Anon Parental Alienation Meetings: Launching on October 4th at noon EDT, these meetings offer:

  • Strategies to understand tactics of coercive control and learn how to self-regulate your emotions
  • Coping tools to manage emotions within a neuro-safe community

TAR Anon offers a program of recovery that helps survivors become self-aware, develop essential self-love, and embrace a trauma-informed approach to healing.

Together, we will move toward a future where mental health is given the same importance as physical health, where survivors of toxic abusive relationships receive the support they deserve, and where STAR Network leads the way in creating meaningful change.

Stay Gold, STAR, Stay Gold!
