this aint my 1st time tryin to get sober, it is my 4th. fortunately, fer me, if i continue to do what is necessary, there will not be a 5th attempt, if im to be so blessed. through my own experience, and the watch of others, not tryin to do any of the steps as honestly as possible, leads to that next 1st drink. ive tried the easier softer way, and invariably drank to oblivion again. when i keep the focus upon myself, while watchin the results of my attempts to remain sober, and in recovery, i begin to grow the spiritual principle of integrity. in the past attempts i was not willin to go that extra mile coz the emotions that welled up within were hard to face. they were very fearful and had me withdrawin from progressin forward. i learned this time, i hadnt used honesty, willingness, or open-mindedness, in prior attempts. today i get to reap the rewards the promises offer coz ive faced those demons within; ive told my story to another usin self-awareness, self-readiness, bein as free from prejudice as i can. as i continue my journey, it is my understandin, if i continue to share, with the tell of any fears, there will not be a 5th attempt at recovery. 1 day @ a time...
