i cannot do this thing we do by myself. i need the interaction with other alcoholics to make it work fer me. when i came into the rooms there were people who didnt know me from shit but were willin to reach their hand out fer me to grasp. they welcomed me with open arms, hearts, and minds. they had a readiness to serve me in any way i needed as far as sobriety and recovery were concerned. this was my lesson in early recovery; to do as they did. so here i am many years later. very seldom, if ever, do i turn down an opportunity to buy a newcomer a big book, ive bought and given many away in the rooms. ive offered my number to many. and i always welcome those new to the rooms the hand, the hug, the empathy, and thought i was offered. today, i get to carry the message to those who dont know theres a way out. 1 day @ a time...
