as with all relationships i must be willin to give, listen, offer compassion, and employ understandin. ive learned, in my relationship with my HP, as i receive, i have to be willin to do my part in our relationship, and even more than my fair share if, and when, possible. ive learned through practicin the principles of recovery, as i give, i get to receive. this is one of the promises i have been given as i continue to live the steps in my life. as i use these concepts in my relationship with my HP, it doesnt mean i get to expect them in return from the material world i live in. i still must live toward givin these attributes, a willingness to give, listenin, offerin compassion, and employin understandin to others, yet not presume others will reciprocate em. my solution to the interaction i have with others, when i feel ive been taken, is simply, the serenity prayer. 1 day @ a time...
