It speaks personally to the reader on a variety of topics we all face on any given day. Family Forgiveness is the title of today’s passage. Here’s a sneak peek:
This is an area that tugs at the hearts of many who are addicted, both in and out of recovery. Who knows better than we do the hurt we inflicted on those closest to us as we look at the wreckage of our past? Tortured by the memory of our own transgressions, our need for forgiveness from our families never ever leaves us.
Forgiveness is an essential part of addiction recovery. It not only includes forgiving yourself, but also earning the forgiveness of those negatively impacted by your addiction. It may be difficult for your loved ones to let go of resentment, anger, distrust, and the many other unfavorable feelings that arise from damage done during active addiction. Family forgiveness is healing process for everyone involved. It takes genuine effort and understanding from both the person in recovery and their family.
To reach a point of forgiveness, it’s helpful to hear how others have learned to forgive. Join us today at 2:00 PM EST to share your experience, and to hear that of others.
